WASHINGTON – The Club for Growth, the Republican-leaning anti-tax, anti-regulation group that has spent $8.5 million against businessman Donald Trump, formally endorsed Texas Sen. Ted Cruz for president on Wednesday. The organization has backed insurgent candidates in congressional Republican primaries, including against GOP incumbents, but never before has endorsed a presidential candidate. Christie & Trump shunned.
